American Dream Poster Project
My Role: sole creator of the design, conceptual, technical, color, design, and typography
Digital design poster class project. This was made to craft my graphic design skills into a visual story to channel audiences through metaphorical ways about the American dream. The story behind the design is when my parents came from Italy hoping for a new opportunity.

At first my problem how can i represent something like that without having too much detail going on and what can i use to symbolize it.

I thought of a snowglobe and some houses and a sun to represent some kind of fantasy.
From here the words "a beautiful dream" with a snow globe of the place of sunshine and rainbows gave the idea of a better life with no stress in a new world. it was a perspective of theirs that came to place when they moved here with their family.
However, my next step was to create a part 2 side-by-side poster to show that reality is not picket fences and sunshine. but a realistic way of saying how much harder it can be to live here and work here. so snowglobe in the trash broken and a dark gloomy setting made sense.
The final outcome shows the digital process done over the sketches in Adobe Illustrator. The colors were tricky so I had to test a bunch of palettes on Illustrator to see what worked. The blue and grey tones were my obvious choices.
