The African Wildlife Foundation is the leading international conservation organization focused exclusively on Africa's wildlife and wild lands.

As part of a class project, I was assigned the challenge of redesigning and rebranding my assignment. To accomplish this, I initiated research to gather relevant insights. Subsequently, I delved into the process of conceptualizing ideas for the individual design elements and the overarching new brand identity.

I selected the lion and the elephant as my symbols, as they are the most iconic and recognizable animals in the African safari. The sketches I created portray these two majestic creatures united beneath the sun and a tree, capturing their essence and the essence of the safari experience.

Subsequently, the complete background I initially created wasn't resonating with everyone in my class. Some suggested that the background should evoke a sense of dynamism by featuring just the sun and land. In response to this feedback, I explored the idea of using half circles, spaced apart, to symbolize the sun and land elements. These sketches began to take shape as a simplified background icon for the logo, effectively portraying the sun and land through the use of these half circle representations.

From here, it started to come together digitally but my classmates and professor agreed that colors should feel silhouette and more simple by one or two colors. so eliminated some colors and chose only a few.

I was impressed with my choices of the final outcome of the colors and consistency from there I placed them on a business card to present the final product.
